Being Enough

Recently I have been enduring a feeling that I can't seem to get rid of. A feeling that I have recently found out that many of my friends have been experiencing as well. An empty, sort of lost feeling that is strong enough to throw off the entire day, every day. The feeling of not being or doing enough.

Not good enough in any aspect of my life. Not a good enough friend, daughter, grand-daughter, wife, sister. Not good enough to be in my major in school or to get a job in that career field (cyber security). Not good enough body wise- not skinny enough and not good enough at eating healthy. Not good enough at my hobbies or creative outlets and blogging. Everything I want to do and be, I fall short. I'm even terrified of not being a good enough mother when the day comes. Like I'm half empty in every aspect of myself. Like I'm not good at anything.

I want to do cyber security, I want to lead a healthy lifestyle, I want to travel, I want to be the best for my family, I want to have a "successful" blog and be a stylist. I want so much and have the highest expectations of myself, which is great... but I need to be forgiving of myself and give myself some slack at times too. Comparing myself and my life to everyone else's around me is such poison, but it's hard to break out of that mindset.

I try to imagine my life sometimes in its own small bubble and just really focus in on what I can do to better myself and reach my goals, without looking at the world as a whole. And I'm not saying that "I'm the center of the universe" AT ALL, but I think it's absolutely necessary to imagine so every now and then. That's when things can get hard because you're forced to look at and analyze what's right in front of you... but I think it's healthy to sort of take accountability of yourself and your surroundings.

For anyone else who is sort of going through a "quarter-life" crisis right now, this is for you...and myself:

This is your life. This is your situation, whether it's ideal or not. Your choices have gotten you here. HOWEVER, nothing is permanent! You can, starting right this second, make a decision to better yourself or take a step in the direction of a situation that IS ideal for you. It is completely okay to be selfish every once in awhile and it's okay to have a voice and an opinion about how your life is going. Whatever your situation- married, single, kids, no kids, school, no school, etc- you can always do something for yourself! Stay hungry for happiness and self fulfillment! It's so important.

If I can come back and read this every day, I think it will help. Even if just for a minute. If you have any comments or advice, please let me know. It is all very appreciated!

5 Favorite DIYs

Hey guys!

Recently, I have been getting a lot of questions about some of the DIYs (Do-It-Yourself) I have done within the last few months, so I figured I would write a post about it. Though I would LOVE to take credit for the ideas of the crafts I have done, Pinterest, as well as other bloggers, have been my main source of projects.

There are 4 reasons that I craft. 1) self-expression. 2) I am a 24 year old student who likes nice things on a low budget. 3) It's a hobby that I feel like I am pretty good at. 4) I love the feeling of accomplishing something- especially something I could actually use!

So whether you just love to craft or maybe you're not so artsy and just want to save a few bucks, these DIY projects are fairly simple and a lot of fun!

Now get to it! It's Sunday- the perfect day to do something creative.
